Jack Palmer in "The Case of the veil" [René Pétillon]

Building my visits to the Library of Santiago, I have read several stories of the Franco-Belgian school is worth commenting. One of them is this, a comic written and drawn by the Frenchman René Pétillon (1945) who offers a wry look at the world of Muslims in France through a hilarious adventure of his character Jack Palmer, a kind of detective Columbo type but good to get the legs. In this adventure must find the daughter of a dentist and a surgeon, both French-French, upper middle class and whose daughter has run away from home. Jack Palmer on his trail into the underworld of the Muslim community in France because everything indicates that the rebel girl has decided to leave college to follow strictly the teachings of the Koran.

did not know Pétillon work and I was pleasantly surprised. I've only read this book but I thought worth reading because there are twelve other adventures before publishing it on the case of the veil. I like that kind of humor that also gives us an interesting look to other cultures. It reminds me a bit to work Desliles Guy, a Canadian artist (Québécois, à vrai dire) of those who have read his reports Burmese and North Korean adventure.

I leave then I prepared a digital copy of this adventure so that they can enjoy and, if you like, to ask them to buy this and other adventures in your favorite library.
