Cabrochico 43 and 44 [Alice and Mirolo]

We should just leave and return to work. I think at this time and experience a regression back to those years when I came all the anguish of having to return to school. I know many liked go to that place of detention but to me it was always torture. I first came to giving up a bit when I was in the final year of high school, hahaha. Just do not ever endured. Anyway. To switch off, I leave two new issues of the journal Cabrochico. These are numbers 43 and 44 available to us thanks to the kindness of Alicia and Mirolo, respectively. In both examples

find these memorable stories for children of the house and some interesting articles in the supplement for mothers who come in both copies. 44 Cabrochico In winter we speak and how you can cope with a good face. Includes some games and pastimes for the cold and rainy days of winter.

Supplement for 43 Cabrochico mothers taught to weave that do not know and for those mothers who do know, taught to make a practical jacket with wool hat for children. In this connection, I guess many here sent to school with those woolly hats covering head, ears and throat. All in one. It was a balaclava, exactly, because let's face exposed. At least that was what we used with my brother. Of course when we were bigger, we replace it with a ski mask because the other little girls seemed so, hahaha.

Me Today it seems that children often use these items. Although my children wove them grandmothers of those hats and wore them. But I'm pretty sure no longer used.

Finally, in the next 43 cabrochico García Lorca's poem about the lizard and the lizard who mourn for having lost his wedding ring remember him? It came also in a reader second or third grade. It's a beautiful poem. Well

. Then, to download these two new numbers Cabrochico and cherish, as our friend Enrique Chicano.

Blueberry [Charlier-Giraud ]

As I mentioned a while back, I will use the blog to discuss also some of the comics that I like and I could enjoy thanks the Library of Santiago. Nothing like a good public library and it has everything one would expect from a place like that.

Although the comic section is not as good as one finds in the mecca of Franco-Belgian BD, at least it has many treasures that I have read since it opened. Some had never read and met by the library. This is the case of series such as "Alpha" or "Dark Cities." Others were known but it is always good to reread at home. This is the case that asked this week, corresponding to the series Blueberry, one of the best expressions of the Western genre of Franco-Belgian school. This latter name comes true sense because their authors are just a Frenchman and a Belgian, Jean Giraud and Jean-Michel Charlier, respectively.

Mr. Jean Giraud lens is shown in the photo on the left and is probably best known to comic readers of science fiction and fantasy, through The Moebius pseudonym. Indeed, it is the same person. Born in 1938, Giraud worked on several comic books in France and was a colleague of some of the most important artists of the Franco-Belgian school. It is in the seventies and eighties when it is known under the pseudonym Moebius, named after a mathematician who seems he wanted to pay homage but also realizes his passion for science in the limits of possibility.

Alejandro Jodorowsky found in its perfect to start a professional relationship that led them to create several of the largest European series.

suppose it is no mystery that Moebius was the creator of this awesome monster known as "Alien" in Ridley Scott. I remember seeing the drawings he made for the movie in one of the numbers of the former Trauko magazine.

But the series that I thought to write something on the blog today is Blueberry. As different as the theme to those who knew him under the pseudonym Moebius, is also drawing style in one case and another. In fact, at the beginning of my adventures in the world of European comic did not know it was the same Giraud Moebius. For me there were two different artists and, indeed, Moebius was never my favorite. This style of drawing that was so copied by some rivals which was among the generation of Chilean artists of the period of the journal Trauko, it was simply unattractive. Nothing to do with the style of Giraud. A style much closer to that of artists such as Hermann and others I met in Mampato. The quality of your drawing, along with the fun of their stories is what attracted me to this series.

The head of the scripts for the first time this series was Jean-Michel Charlier, M. formal look as pictured on the right. Of him and I have said more than anything in previous comments. However, it is worth mentioning that he was born in the beautiful city of Liège in 1924 and died in Paris in 1989.

Charlier was the writer of another of my favorites: Tanguy and Laverdure. This great series in which actors are pilots of "l'armée de l'air" on board French always beautiful Mirage. Another series of aircraft was written by Charlier series Buck Danny, the one on the brushes to the artist Victor Hubinon.

Well, the story of Blueberry has all the ingredients that appeal to the western genre and adventure. A protagonist who is wrongly accused of murder and must go underground using a false name with which he seeks redemption. Something like this is what happens to Mike Donovan or better said Lt. Blueberry, who ends by joining the ranks of the U.S. cavalry in this condition and starring countless adventures.

From the Library took the first volumes of the Standard edition, which are the first in its original edition in French. Indeed, the first two volumes that can be seen in the images accompanying this note were published in 1972, seven years after the publication of the first adventure, entitled "Fort Navajo." So the English edition suggests a reading order which is different from the order in which they were published in Castilian Blueberry adventures. In any case, the two numbers are proposing today enjoy a full history, named for the third cycle of the adventures of Blueberry Charlier and Giraud, called "the golden mountain."

These Blueberry history that should deal with an alleged German nobleman who knows the secret of a gold mine that is the greed of all adventurous but seems to be guarded by a lost soul.

The first story is entitled "The German mine lost" and the second, "The Phantom of the golden bullets." As I said, both as a single unit and is worth reading for a trip.

As I said, who likes the western genre will enjoy this spectacular series. And although the website is the full collection in its French version in Castilian, my obsession led me to make my own digital version, making sure that both scans were as publishing the best possible. Besides, now that the resolution of the video cards can enjoy larger screens, you also need to adjust the digital versions of comics to this higher resolution. So I think it's worth tasting this year I prepared for the blog. If you like, may extend the public library that are partners request to acquire the series. Or if you prefer, you can acquire yourself. Never be the same enjoy a story in its paper version. More so when these issues are of great quality, with spectacular colors and the intoxicating scent with magazines and books recently released from the press.

Well, hopefully you like it. And if anyone is encouraged to share their views on this series, even better.

Mampato Volume 9

Continuing with my idea of \u200b\u200bbeing able to make my own digital versions of the magazine Mampato, I leave today I was missing numbers to complete the ninth volume of the collection. So far there were only scanned half of the numbers that make up but I've caught up with the others.

These are numbers 84, 85, 86, 87 and 90. All numbers correspond to published between August and October 1971, just where was probably the best time of the magazine.

Each issue brings very valuable and wonderful stories. In this connection Finally, the cartoon Mampato corresponds to the adventure in Arabia. In addition, here comes the story of Nick Obre in which it must face the robots jewel thieves. In this story, which was subsequently republished in the journal Theme Cucalón, shows a bullet that is the young man whom Nick BOUT he borrowed the bike to follow the robots as they fled towards the mountains. There, in the version of Cucalón the young man was listening to the band "Prisoners", while the cartoon published in Mampato just looks the type heard on the radio one of those typical songs of the "angry" with the classic, "Yeah, yeah." These reissues Theme always noticed this kind of detail. As was the case also with Mampato had stuck posters on the wall of his room. Cucalón editions of several of them I recall that were modified to update the time it was reissued.

Well, but here are several classics of the Franco-Belgian comic strip as Tunga ("The Cave of Death" and "Battle of the giants"), Bernard Prince ("The law of the hurricane") and Dan Cooper ("The mystery of flying saucers.")

I have said that the latter was the first adventure I read Dan Cooper as a child and I was impressed by their quality. To me, I've always been fascinated by airplanes and spacecraft, just the adventures of Dan Cooper were regarded as extraordinary.
Over time I also met cartoons Tanguy and Laverdure, which unfortunately were never published in Mampato, along with several others that develop the aviation theme.

For items that come in these numbers are too many to discuss them in detail but of course worth mentioning that continues the special series on the History of Man ", with those fantastic illustrations that still do not know who really correspond.

also highlighted an article about the Impressionists, with a very successful reproductions of classic works of this artistic school.

series also come "Corners of the World", one of my favorite sections, with articles on Brazil, Turkey, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Costa Rica.

A section interesting and we've never discussed is the "Gallery of Stars." Several of the figures that appear there never knew who they were, as one such "Lydia," which appears in the Mampato 85 and I guess I was a singer. Others sounded only name and others were clearly known to me. I was surprised to learn how young he was Gervasio. Oh, and a picture that appears Alain Delon, the face has been smoked several grams of marijuana, hahaha (Mampato 84).

Well then we complete the volume 9 of the library in version mayonnaise. This digital capture of an appropriate resolution and with an edition that seeks to provide the best possible quality of restoration. All mampatogramas come clean, as is usual in Mampato I share here on the blog. Soon I will continue with the remaining numbers.

Duckling - Independence Day Special

Today was a reasonable day moved into the south-central Chile. An earthquake of 7 degrees, (technically an earthquake) had us quite concerned. A few days of first anniversary of the earthquake of 8.8 degrees, again shake the earth where it and several aftershocks have followed quite strong too.

To distract a little and spend the shock, what better way to enjoy a humor magazine. Mirolo our friend sent us this special issue of the magazine "The Littlest Duckling." Its author Tom is the artist (Roberto Tapia), who drew this character in a style similar to that of Condorito. In fact, a bullet from you can be confused with one drawn by Pepo. In addition, the type of humor is similar too.

We had posted on the blog a copy of this magazine but it was the version that circulated in the early nineties. In contrast, this number is the beginning of the seventies. Although it is not number or date, the price is in shields, so we suppose it is the beginning of the decade.

Mirolo digitized and edited this issue, so my task was to write and publish this note. Thank you very much for this collaboration.
