: School of Visual Arts, New York (BFA 1992)

M & G: What was your first job as an illustrator? Hanoch
: menu A sign for a pizzeria in the neighborhood of New York where he lived.
The first real professional job was a week to complete my studies, I received an order for a cover of Newsweek.



M & G: Your favorite work you have done so far? Hanoch
: I have too many jobs that I liked. Perhaps one of the favorites is the series I've done for TV.

M & G: What inspires you? Hanoch
: I am inspired to work. I believe that only when one is and put into the project, even doing bad things, is when good ideas and inspiration begin to appear.



M & G: Tell us a little "what is the technique you use for your work? Hanoch
: basically is to start 'playing' with different objects, looking for interesting connections and conceptual forms. Many possible solutions for creative problem will jump almost by chance and sometimes the problem is to choose. If I encounter a good idea, is simply a matter of 'listening' to the idea and see what the best solution visual to be improved.

M & G: Do you have a story that happened to you as an illustrator? Hanoch
: Being my collage technique based on objects and on the other hand, being a constant traveler, more than once I had to fly with suitcases full of stuff ... On one occasion I was with a suitcase full of broom straw, of all possible sizes. My luck is that I was not asked to open the suitcase it would have seemed a kind of spiritual ritual of witchcraft or something.



M & G: Tell us one of your hobbies for your free time. Hanoch
: I returned to jogging, hobby I had as a teenager and this year I've run two half marathons.

M & G: Your favorite story book "? Hanoch
: not think I can pick one. Lately I'm trying to read everything I find of Stephan Zweig.

M & G: "movie or animated series favorite? Hanoch
: Very difficult to choose one: Do not watch television. Recent movie The Lives of Others, The Barbarian Invasions, the last Cohen brothers' ... I do not know, many more ...


M & G: What character or drawing you identify? Hanoch
: As much as I travel and my 'grown' image of 'man-child' Tintin would have to choose but I solve problems are not life or death issue ...

M & G What would you highlight illustrator or graphic artist? Hanoch
: Rutu Modan and Spain Miguel Gallardo.
