Blog: http://www.mercecrist.blogspot.com/

M & G: "or self-taught art studies? Mercedes
: My work as an illustrator is casual. Whenever I moved over next to the words. As a child he drew pictures that I only understood it, was that way, slowly, I became adept at making "scribbles." Over time, almost without noticing, I became an illustrator in a very traditional and lonely. Today, I learn, grow and take refuge under the eye of Claudia Legnazzi.

M & G: What was your first job as an illustrator? Mercedes
: My first was working for the Foundation and Save the Children Etis Spain. I ordered black and white illustrations. These would then be painted by children between 8 and 11 still could not read or write. It was a job that, personally, gave me great satisfaction to perform.

M & G: What inspires you? Mercedes
: Noting everyday, clouds inspire me, the leaves fall from trees, animals, friends, and especially the feelings of loneliness, indifference, distance, missed the uncertainty of not knowing who I am. Music is my great companion.

M & G: Do you have a favorite technique? Mercedes
: I think not. Just my acrylics, brushes and a nice old paper.

M & G: Tell us one of your hobbies for your free time
Mercedes I enjoy being with my daughter, have long conversations with my dog, drinking jasmine tea, dancing, drinking the sun and raise the falling leaves of the trees to invent characters.

M & G Your book- favorite story? Mercedes
: I think Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass has been very important in my life. I often feel I'm falling and that's when my imagination is the best shelter. Maybe that's why I also enjoy both cronopios Cortazar and many other texts from him. Pizarnik is also my great companion on this trip.

M & G: favorite animated movie "or not? Mercedes
: Mmnmnm ... I think Amelie is one of the movies that I like to see ...

M & G: What character or drawing you identify? Mercedes
: Definitely with Alicia, the wonderland. It grows and becomes tiny and backward as well. Which has long conversations with her cat at the time of tea. That's at times not sure who he is.

M & G: Illustrator What would you highlight? Mercedes
: Ups! They are sooo much I admire ... But I'll choose my dearest Cecilia Varela overflowing tenderness in his illustrations. Each drawing it conveys a feeling.

Thanks Mer! You are sooo bright sun! :-))))
